John D Lamond’s Review & Tasting notes for The Tweeddale 12 year old batch 3
John D. Lamond’s (Master of Malt) Tasting Notes for The Tweeddale Limited Edition blended Scotch Whisky batch 3 aged 12 years.
Colour – Pale amber with pale yellow highlights.
Nose – Quite a solid peat note with an attractive richness showing pears and pineapple; with water, the fruit becomes more oranges and lemons with a slight gunpowder overtone.
Palate – Medium-dry, rich and fruity, with notes of citrus, chocolate, caramel, honey and a little ginger spice and an underlay of firm peat.
Finish – Long, complex and slightly tangy, finishing with rice paper wrapped toffee, rich citrus notes and a reprise of the ginger.
Notes – A blend of mature whiskies put together by Stonedean. A ni-i-i-i-ice whisky! Complex and flavoursome with an impressive structure, it has good weight, ticks many flavour boxes and, as a result, should appeal to a wide audience.
