The Tweeddale blended Scotch Whisky batch 4 Aged 14 Years has received a Liquid Gold Award in Jim Murray’s whisky Bible 2015 with a score of 94 “Superstar Whiskies that give us all a reason to Live”.
This is the third Liquid Gold Award for The Tweeddale blend from Jim Murray in three years, with Batch 2 receiving a Liquid Gold Award with a Score of 94.5 in Jim’s 2013 Whisky Bible, Batch 3 receiving a Liquid Gold Award with a Score of 95 in Jim’s 2014 Whisky Bible and now batch 4 receiving a Liquid Gold award in Jim’s 2015 Whisky Bible.
In this year’s Whisky Bible Jim names The Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 as his 2015 World Whisky of the Year with a score of 97.5 His second Finest Whisky in the World is William Larue Weller and his third Finest Whisky in the World is Sazerac Rye 18 Year old.
Jim’s Single Cask of the Year is Four Roses Limited Edition Barrel 3-4P; his Scotch Whisky of the year is The Last Drop 1965 and his European whisky of the Year is English Whisky Co Chapter 14 Not Peated.
When you see the impressive whiskies named above gaining these awards it is an honour for The Tweeddale blend just to get a mention and a delight to receive a 3rd Liquid Gold award. This year The Tweeddale Lowland Single Malt and The Tweeddale Lowland Single Grain were also reviewed by Jim and received scores of 89 & 88 respectively.
For me the real highlight was Jim’s finish comment on his review of The Tweeddale blend Batch 4 “Simple. But quite beautiful”.
Indeed, thank you Jim.
