We’re excited to annouce that Raasay While We Wait has won a Silver award in the IWSC 2016 (International Wine & Spirit Competition), adding to this lightly peated single malt’s list of accolades – in May it won ISC Bronze – making it an award-winning Scotch whisky.
The revered IWSC competition, which has been running since 1969, is judged in two stages; blind tasting by a panel of industry experts, followed by technical analysis of those entries awarded top medals in the tasting.
With Raasay While We Wait our representation of the style of whisky we intend to distil at our brand new Isle of Raasay Distillery (currently under construction and due to open around Spring next year), it’s non-age-statement but a deliberately young whisky as we’ll start bottling the Isle of Raasay single malt from 2020.
We’ve used our handcrafting skills to make Raasay While We Wait a uniquely complex whisky, lightly peated at 15ppm and finished in Tuscan red wine casks – and it seems with the award of Silver from IWSC all our hard work has paid off!
